Aloha Kapunahala families,

YOU ARE AMAZING! Thank you so much for supporting our Donation Drive Fundraiser! We surpassed our goal and collected a total of $38,603 in donations! The money will go back to the school for classroom/teacher supplies, library books, P.E. equipment, technology, field trips, and so much more!

We would like to recognize students who collected the most donations:

1st place: JP M. in Ms. Kao's 6th grade class, who raised $3100

2nd place: Ely D. in Ms. Affonso's Kindergarten class, who raised $1505

3rd place: Alia K. in Mr. Park's 6th grade class, who raised $1320

These 3 students will receive a Target gift card and a personalized Kapunahala flask!

We would also like to also recognize Aven K. in Mrs. Almeida's 5th grade class for raising $1030.

He will also receive a personalized Kapunahala flask

Congratulations to the Top 3 Homerooms:

1st place: A2, Ms. Affonso's Kindergarten class

2nd place: C21, Ms. Kao's 6th grade class

3rd place: C25, Mrs. Almeida's 5th grade class

Students in these classes will receive a Pizza Party. The 1st place class, A2, will also get a trophy, to be proudly displayed in the class until next year's Donation Drive.

Although we are recognizing the top students and classes, the real WINNER is the ENTIRE KAPUNAHALA SCHOOL COMMUNITY! We have U-Knighted as "ONE TEAM", and we are so grateful to all of you.

We had a FABULOUS Dolphin Dash event on Friday, Sept 30. It was AWESOME to see everyone U-Knighted wearing their "ONE TEAM" t-shirts! The kids had a great time at the Inflatable Game Dome, Inflatable Slide, Obstacle Course, and Ball & Bucket Challenge. They participated in a Dolphin Dash, where they raced across the field with their teachers, through floating bubbles. They were rewarded with a refreshing ice pop at the end. Thank you to all of the parent volunteers who made this special event possible!

Hope you had a HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

We'd like to thank everyone who volunteered and donated treats for our first Halloween SPOOKtacular Trick-or-Treat event last Friday! It was FANGtastic! We had about 300 trick-or-treaters and 20 booths, including Honolulu Police Department, Honolulu Fire Department, State Representative Scot Matayoshi, and Kapunahala teachers from each grade level! We welcome any feedback and suggestions for improvement: https://forms.gle/n897imHt5DiU7Z8y6

For raising over $20,000 in our Donation Drive, the students voted for Mr. Izumi's Halloween costume. And the winning costume was.... Princess! Pictures will be shared in the November Makua Monthly, as well as on Kapunahala Elementary School's facebook page.
